OREO CELEBRATES 100 YEARS
(the new día.com) Puerto Rico Kraft Foods announced today the start of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of its iconic Oreo cookie around the world. On the occasion of the feast, the food distributor used the slogan "Celebrate the Child who is in you." The company decided to use this expression to the concern of parents think the child essence danger to current pressures. "That longing to free the child in all of us causes us to provide greater opportunity for sharing moments simple and pure delight children through 2012," said Leila Ortiz, marketing manager for Kraft Foods Puerto Rico. The cookie, known for its cream filling, has positioned itself as market leader. After a century of life, the brand is in constant innovation to maintain its preference for the palates of children and adults. As part of the campaign this month, the shops will dress party with "display" special and the introduction of Oreo Birthday Cake. This will serve as a prelude to the celebration of March 6. That day the birthday cookie and will release an interactive platform through the Facebook social network through local media. Kraft Foods extended the carnival celebration to the month of July where they will start searching for a family to travel to New York for the global event celebrating 100 years of Oreo. The first Oreo cookie was made in the city of New York in 1912 and originally sold for 30 cents a pound in grocery stores. Currently, however, earnings amounted to over 1.5 billion dollars annually. For the years 1950 and 1960, the cookie was placed as number one in the American nation and from there began to be distributed in Canada, Mexico and Venezuela, reaching 100 countries.
